The River Refuge was birthed out of Passion-Life Church. This is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) community development organization designed to provide families, children, and individuals who are in need of education both in spiritual matters as well as in life skills. It is the endeavor of this organization to see families stay together, grow to be self-sustaining and contribute back to society.
Reaching the Community
The Malachi Project
The Malachi Project is an after school and mentoring/discipleship program for at-risk youth who reside in the McDonough Housing Authority and surrounding community. The program is structured to address the multi-faced needs of the children being raised in this environment, such as education, mentoring, social skills, financial awareness, and spiritual/emotional support. We are now seeing the Malachi Project in other nations.
Redemption Boxes
We collect canned goods for those in need within our community for Thanksgiving. We then box them up and deliver to low income neighbourhoods in Henry and Clayton County. Through the handing out of these boxes, not only are we able to provide a Thanksgiving meal, but we get to pray and minister to the individuals.

Back to School Bash
At the beginning of every school year The River Refuge sponsors Back to School Bash in which children receive book bags filled with school supplies. This project gives us an opportunity to share school supplies with the children while praying for them and their families.
